It has affected different people in different ways, financially, socially and even emotionally.
It has left a long-term impact on some people.
Christmas is celebrated, all over the world, in honour of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The unifying factor around the world is the historical fact that Jesus was born.
In the scriptures (Luke 2:10-11), we read, an angel of God appeared to the shepherds the night of Jesus’ birth and said, “… I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”
The birth of Jesus Christ brings good news of great joy for all the people of this world.
Christmas can be celebrated with gifts, incredible decorations, a beautiful Christmas tree, with the whole family around, with lots of food, fun and much more.
Having done all these, a person can be anxious, fearful and even feeling hopeless inside.
They may be among a crowd but can be lonely inside.
The message of Christmas is the good news of great joy for all people.
You may be wondering, what is this good news of great joy for all people.
Most people believe in Heaven and Hell, and almost everyone wants to go to Heaven.
But when asked the question, “When you die, will you go to Heaven?” No one can confidently answer. Heaven is a place where there is no bad, no evil or any sinful thing.
From scripture we read, everyone has done something wrong in their lifetime and failed the expectations for Heaven. Some people do good things to cover up the wrong, but it does not make the wrong right.
The good news for all people is that Jesus lived a life with no wrongs. He died on the Cross, taking upon Himself everyone’s wrong, thereby making everyone right.
According to scripture, anyone who believes that Jesus died for their wrong and accepted Jesus as their saviour, will experience that great joy within and also secure a place in Heaven.
