Mayor Lisa Lake said the event (noon-9pm) would celebrate and highlight Turkish culture, history and heritage, and provide an opportunity for community members to come together and learn more about Türkiye and its journey over the past century.
There will be a day full of traditional and contemporary cultural activities, showcasing Turkish music, dance, entertainment, art and craft activities, backgammon, a variety of fusion food and more.
There will also be a range of free rides and children’s games including teacups, the mini pirate ship, dodgem cars, rock climbing, a bungee trampoline, inflatable gym, laser tag, slot cars, face painting and more.
Australian comedian, film, television actor and MC Tahir Bilgic said it’s a significant milestone.
“The 100th anniversary can only happen once, so I’m really hoping that everyone, regardless of their background, can come out and join us for a fun celebration,” he said.
