“Australia Day gives people from all walks of life an opportunity to come together and celebrate what it means to be Australian,” Cumberland City Council Mayor Steve Christou said.
“At Cumberland City, we have been planning a Covid-safe program, to ensure we mark an important day for all Australians and we will be proceeding with our event in line with Covid regulations.”
Some of the key highlights will include a fireworks, food stalls and live music.
A range of planning elements, including crowd control management measures on entry and exit, compulsory registration and promotion of good hand hygiene, have been included as part of maintaining the Covid-safe event.
