Invite community to have coffee with cop

THE community is invited to come together with Auburn police for an informal discussion about local issues and to build relationships – over a coffee.

Coffee with a Cop will be held at at Marina Square shopping centre, Wentworth Point, on Tuesday, February 13, 10am to 12pm, and everyone’s invited.
The majority of contact police have with the public generally happens during emergencies, or emotional situations, and those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship-building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street.
Auburn Commander Superintendent Simon Glasser said Coffee with a Cop helped breaks down barriers and allowed for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.
“We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers,” he said.
“These interactions are the foundation of good community partnerships.”
