Firefighters used the power pole to secure the car as they cut off and removed the roof, before extricating the couple.
The man was trapped behind the steering wheel while the woman had an injured wrist. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

AN injured couple in their 60s had to be cut from their car after it ended up on its side and resting against a power pole on Ridge Street in Merrylands just after 11am today.
