Infamous barbecue festival returns

AFTER a two-year hiatus and offering plenty of juicy treasures, infamous barbecue festival ’Meatstock’ is back at Sydney Olympic Park this weekend from Friday, May 6-8.
Featuring live bands on two stages, barbecue demonstrations, sweet food trucks, a barbecue expo, live art, tattoos and the rod + custom rumble car show, the festival also includes competitions like Australia’s Strongest Man and Strongest Woman, Best Butcher, Best Beard and ‘Mo and Fastest Eater, with refreshments by Pirate Life and Sailor Jerry.
As always Meatstock will present some of the biggest names in barbecues in Australia plus 50 teams from across the country, will be battling it out at the Heat Beads Sydney Barbecue Wars for $15,000 in cash and prizes and more importantly, to be crowned the best barbecuers in the land.

What is also sure to be a hit is the Sydney Sausage Sizzle Throwdown where professionals (yes, there are competitive rankings) will go up against anyone to compete for $1,500 cash and a multitude of prizes.
Co-founder Jay Beaumont said that after two hugely successful shows in Toowoomba and Melbourne, they were excited to offer the beefy showcase this weekend at Homebush.
“There is just so much to see and do for any meat lover or barbecue king or queen,” he said.
“You need to book tickets quickly, though, as places are filling up fast.”
