Indoor drug farms worth $3,300,000

POLICE have charged a man from Yagoona who was allegedly connected to three indoor cannabis plantations estimated to be worth $3,300,000.
In June 2019, police received information that cannabis was allegedly being cultivated at a property at Denham Court.
Following ongoing inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at the premises on Wednesday, June 26 and allegedly located a significant indoor cannabis plantation.
A vehicle which police had observed attending the location was registered to a property in Yagoona.
On Wednesday, July 3, police located the vehicle at the address and during a subsequent search of the car, allegedly located equipment consistent to that found at the indoor plantation.
Two days later police returned to the premises at Yagoona and arrested a 37-year-old man.
His fingerprints were allegedly found to match those taken from an indoor cannabis plantation at Botany in 2013 and another indoor cannabis plantation located at Leumeah in 2015.
He was charged with three counts of cultivating a prohibited drug.

Hid food down pants
A MAN who allegedly stole several food items including an avocado and frankfurt sausages and stuffed them down the front of his pants, has been charged.
It is alleged that last Tuesday afternoon, the man attended a supermarket at a shopping centre in Bass Hill, where he took the items.
When approached by a staff member to pay for the items when leaving the store, the man allegedly refused and threatened that person before leaving the store in a vehicle.
A 28-year-old was arrested at a home in Kirrily Place, Bass Hill, and charged with trespass and robbery.

Crash witness search
POLICE are appealing for information and dash cam vision after a man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Roselands last month.
About 6.55am on Monday, June 24, emergency services were called to the corner of Canterbury Road and Christian Road, Roselands, after a Honda 350 motorcycle collided with the rear of a Hino Lorry Tipper
The 21-year-old rider sustained a fractured skull and severe facial injuries. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. The 30-year-old driver of the truck was not injured.
Police are urging anyone who may have information or dash cam footage in relation to this incident to contact Campsie Police Station on 9784 9399.

Drunk, hits car, pole
A MAN has been charged after crashing his car while allegedly driving with a high-range blood alcohol level in Bass Hill on Monday nigh.
About 8.20pm, a 51-year-old man was driving his Ford Falcon on Thornton Street, Bass Hill, when he allegedly lost control and smashed into a Toyota Corolla that was parked and unoccupied, then hit a power pole.
The driver, who was not injured, underwent a roadside breath test that allegedly provided a positive result.
He was charged with high range drink driving and his licence was suspended.

Teen hits traffic isle
A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital after crashing his motorbike in Georges Hall in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Shortly after midnight, a 17-year-old male learner was riding his motorcycle east on Marion Street, Georges Hall, when he struck a traffic island and crashed.
He suffered serious injuries but are not considered life-threatening. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Fled, had gun in car
POLICE have allegedly located a firearm in a car that was involved in an accident last Wednesday morning.
It is alleged that the driver left the scene of the accident without exchanging details.
Police located a firearm within the vehicle.
The 28-year-old male was later arrested at De Witt Street in Bankstown and charged with possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and possess unauthorised pistol.

Child porn, drug bust
POLICE have charged a 34-year-old from Revesby with using carriage service to transmit child pornography to self, possess child abuse material and possess prohibited drug. He was granted bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, July 24.

Fled police, unlicensed
A YAGOONA man, 21, faces charges of police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle while licence suspended and exceed speed. He was allegedly involved in a police pursuit last Wednesday afternoon in Yagoona.
