Police have been conducting extensive searches and inquiries at airports and ports, as well as other transportation routes across NSW and Australia, and say Mark Horne, 32, who was awaiting trial on serious charges, over an alleged attack and robbery of a truck driver, is desperate and dangerous and have issued an arrest warrant.
He was last seen on Coorabin Place, Riverwood, last Friday about 6.15am, where it’s believed he entered an unknown vehicle which was last seen heading westbound on the M5 Motorway.
Police inquiries suggest Mr Horne may be attempting to travel to Queensland to flee to Southeast Asia – and most likely by sea.
It would be expected he may be receiving assistance from associates to avoid detection. Police remind those who are involved in this type of activity that it is a criminal offence, and they will be charged.
He is described as being about 185cm tall, of medium build with brown hair and brown eyes.
He has distinctive tattoos covering both arms and his right leg, as well as faded tattoos on his neck and chin.
Anyone who sights Mr Horne, or who has information about his whereabouts, is urged not to approach him, and to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Anyone with information about Mr Horne’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
