Hundreds step out for ‘Festival of Feet’

SUNNY skies greeted 570 pairs of feet stepping out at Lake Gillawarna for the Festival of the Feet on Sunday, with organisers thrilled with the perfect running conditions and the fun family vibe of the day.

There was a range of local stall holders including Bankstown physio, Cadbury, doTERRA essential oils, the LAPD Tri Club and Under Armour Running Shoes.
Great sponsors who attended comprised Bankstown City Unity Bank, ACO Pty Ltd, Nest Egg Financials’ Andrew Brown and a team from Bankstown Sports Club.
The 21km event was won by Karl Safi, with James Broderick coming second and Tom Quilter coming third.
The first female in this event was Larissa Tichon, followed by Aimee Davenport, with Lillian Molesworth coming third.
The 14km event was won by Michael Tozer, with Daniel Lorenzotti coming second and David Riches coming third.

The first female across the line was Page Merriman, second was Shelly Casey and third was Linda Hernando.
The 7km event was won by David Baker, with Mitchell Parsons coming second and Michael Kammerer coming third.
The first female was Sabrina Peng, with Caitlin Murphy coming second and Ciara Cassilles coming third.
The Running Movement were the team entry winners while in the 3km family race, first male was Thomas Hamilton, followed by Nathan Muddie and Jason Konig.
The first female to arrive was Briony Norton, followed by Hailey D’ombrain, with Amber Kusano coming third.
“Runners and spectators alike enjoyed a great day,” an organiser said. “Start training for the next festival scheduled for July 12, 2020.”
