Huge upset as Magpies knock Swifts from perch

IN a huge upset, the ladder-leading NSW Swifts have lost 64 to 56 to a dominant Collingwood Magpies team in Tasmania.

Swifts coach Briony Akle called a time out to try to break the Magpies’ momentum but they couldn’t break their flow as Collingwood played with more intensity than they have all season.
The win briefly ousted Giants Netball from a finals position but they jumped back into the top four after a 54-40 win against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
It means there is plenty on the line for both the Swifts and the Giants as the regular season winds up with a double header at Qudos Bank Arena this Saturday, August 24.
The blockbuster event has the Giants playing West Coast Fever at 3pm, before the Swifts take to the court against the Queensland Firebirds at 5pm.
