How women snatch win on very last ball

ANOTHER Sunday and another win for Bankstown Sports Women’s Cricket Club’s (BSWCC) First Grade women in a nail-biting finish, making it three wins on the trot.

Sydney University batted well before Megan McColl got the breakthrough ahead of Karina Bell’s efforts, ending with 4-11 off 3 overs.
Chasing 106, opener Jade Errington led with 34 off 39 before late order hitting got them over the line on the very last ball.
Second Grade had another comfortable win over Parramatta in their Round 8 T20 clash.  With the loss of 2 for 22, Emilia Danne (35) and Emma Newman (26) helped achieve 7/99 off 20 overs.
Ava Blackburn 3/6 and Sunshine Ferreiro-De Luca 2/15 then ripped through Parra’s top order.
Also helping to limit Parra to 69 in the 20th over, were Elizabeth Buckley, Emilia Danne, Cynthia Coghlan 2/11, Sarah Lawler 1/11 and Camryn Harland 1/11.
BSWCC Third Grade had their second win in a low-scoring game against Sydney University.
Claire Jones had an amazing 30 off 33, with Peta Humphreys, 20 off 28, finishing on 2 for 87.
Bankstown reduced Sydney University to 6 for 69. Outstanding were Jones and Brianna Fraser.
BSWCC Brewers lost a close encounter with Sydney.
Making a good start thanks to Jess Robertson (24 runs/39) and Bareen Haider (37 runs/31), Bankstown had to settle for 94.
Rylka Smythe (2/13 off 4) did well to contain Sydney with the win scored in the 19th over, but a shoutout to Greer McKerron and Bareen Haider for impressive catches.
