How Rams buck all expectations

RIGHT in the heart of the district, Merrylands Rams Junior Rugby League team has their door open ready to welcome new players for the upcoming 2024 season.

The family club has been thriving for over 100 years and though a small club, put up a good fight last year with three out of 13 teams reaching the grand finals – U12s, U18s who were undefeated and the minor premiers and the U13s who won their grand final.
Rams Club President Kevin Semaan said all the players, parents and volunteers were thrilled with their efforts.
He said joining a rugby league club at a young age, ensured you would have friends for life and that the game was much safer to play for children than other codes.
“The under 6s and 7s only play a tag game but we teach all the juniors how to tackle safely so there is no risk of injury,” he said.
“It’s ideal for girls as well as boys as rugby league is perfect for developing teamwork skills and fitness, much better for a child than sitting around watching a screen.
“Anyone thinking of joining this season with registrations now open, should definitely get in touch; there is nothing as good as rugby league for junior boys and girls, right through to mens, womens and masters.”
