How hub puts seniors ‘in the know’

THIRTY five residents have attended the first ‘In The Know’ information session at The Seniors Coffee Hub at Padstow Community Care (PCC), enjoying a helpful talk on the My Aged Care system.

PCC manager Alison Dawes said they were very encouraged to see the strong turnout for the first session which featured guest speaker Marie Kedwood from Anglicare, discussing ‘Navigating My Aged Care’.
“Marie presented a summary of key information helpful to seniors, family members and carers, to better access, understand and move through the My Aged Care system,” Alison said.
“Attendees also took part in a lively discussion, sharing some of their own past experiences accessing the My Aged Care system and aged care service providers.
“Marie was also able to answer a number of questions that seniors had and provided advice on how to access further support and information.”
‘In The Know’ information sessions are held on the first Wednesday of the month, 10-11am, with future topics including Navigating Services NSW, Wills and Power of Attorney, Falls Prevention and Healthy Living.
