How Fair Trade gift buying helps artisans

LOOKING for a special place to buy gifts this Christmas?

In the Stone Hut at Addison Road Community Centre, you will find the amazing Fair Trade Emporium.
Directly opposite the carpark, independent fair traders have joined join together to offer a selection of hand-crafted, artisan-made, fair trade goods (pictured).
There’s everything from jewellery, hand bags, accessories and fashion, to home wares, stationery, coffee, chocolate and more.
When you buy Fair Trade products you are helping people to earn a fair price for their work.
By supporting artisans who are marginalised, you can assist people in making a difference for themselves and their communities.
The Fair Trade Emporium opened in the spring of 2014 as a collaboration between the NSW Fair Trade Network and the Addison Road Community Organisation.
The Stone Hut in which the Emporium is housed, is of historical interest in its own right, having served as an ammunitions store way back when the grounds were a military barracks in World War One.
It’s a special place with plenty of original and unusual gifts.
With organic foods, tea, coffee and chocolate, baskets and bags, fashion accessories, stationery, home wares, and more, sourced from Aboriginal organisations in Australia and disadvantaged communities around the world – this is the place you can find beautiful gifts as well as eco-friendly cleaning materials for your home, family and friends.
It’s open on Fridays, 11am-5pm, Saturdays, 10am-4pm, and Sundays, 9am-3pm.
