He said he took it up when he was looking for a sport to do all year round that wouldn’t be at the mercy of the weather.
“It’s quite an easy sport to take up, your level of fitness doesn’t need to be high and it’s very inclusive,” he said.
“It doesn’t feel like you are working out but you are running around for 40 minutes, dodging and weaving, using most of your muscle groups; it will definitely improve your physical and mental well-being.”
With a 12-week season of Dodgeball starting at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre and in partnership with the council on July 19, those new to the sport can attend a Try Dodgeball event at the centre, tonight, Wednesday, July 12, 7-10pm.
Armed with foam balls and fuelled with competitive spirit, players will unleash their lightning-fast reflexes and cunning tactics to eliminate the opponent and seize victory.
“You can turn up as an individual or in a team and it costs $10 for the session with pre-bookings not required,” Michael said.
“So get a team together of colleagues or friends and family and give it a go tonight or register in the Men’s and Women’s League competition starting soon.”
