The St Johns Eagles first grade player, 41, is the Canterbury Bulldogs Development Coach for Boys and Girls U15s – U17s and on the U17s Girls ‘Lisa Fioala Cup’ coaching staff for the NSW Championships in June.
It’s safe to say his children are definitely following in his footsteps.
They comprise Monalisa, 17, Elizabeth, 14, Tai, 12, Tania, 11, Sefo, 9, Silivia, 8, Eirene, 6, Lidcombe, 5, and twin boys Alpha and Omega, five months.
Last year, Monalisa was in the Sydney West Netball side and has made the NSW CHS Rugby Union 7s Girls 1st team after playing in Canterbury Bulldogs’ Tarsha Gale u19s Womens side and just missing out on this year’s finals.
She is also about to make her debut with the Cronulla Sharks women’s team in the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s competition.
Elizabeth is in the Canterbury Bulldogs Juniors Development Squad and Tania played for Parramatta/Auburn Schools Zone at Sydney West PSSA u11s Rugby League Championships as well as representing Parramatta/Auburn at the Sydney West PSSA Touch Football Championships.
Tai and Sefo are also talented sportsmen, with Sefo representing Auburn Zone in Cross Country.
Bill says he has never tried to encourage them in any particular sport but is proud of their active lifestyle.
“We all exercise before and after school, go to training and enjoy a meal, a positive talk and then prayers before bed,” he said.
“We got a playstation for Christmas but the kids would rather read a book or play with each other.
“My wife Sana is the real champion, though, coaching three teams and driving all the kids to their activities so much so that she rarely gets to enjoy one of their games from start to finish.”
How Bill has ball with brood of 10
HE’S now got enough for his own football team following the birth of twin sons in December and Lidcombe father of 10, Bill Soliola, reckons that would be the greatest job of all.
