House fire investigated

INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the cause of a house fire in Belfield early this morning.

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) were called to a property in Michael Avenue just before 2am, with the first crew reporting thick smoke and flames in the front rooms of the house.
They worked to extinguish the blaze, while neighbouring residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters attacked the fire which went through the roof but managed to contain it within 45 minutes.
There were no reported injuries.
