NEWTOWN Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) will mark Newtown Festival in a different, Covid-safe way next month, with residents invited to host a ‘Backyard Party’ to celebrate what Newtown and the festival means to them.
For more than 40 years, every second Sunday in November, Camperdown Memorial Park comes alive with colour and sound.
“This year we are encouraging people to get a few mates together in their backyard on Sunday, November 8, to share some Newtown Festival memories and to create new ones in a year we will never forget,” NNC CEO Liz Yeo said.
NNC has lots of ideas to help people celebrate and is also encouraging people to shop local and to grab supplies for food and drinks from local businesses.
All registered parties go in the running to win a $100 Westfield voucher.
