Canterbury Bankstown Council hosted the “Mayor’s Thank You BBQ”, initiated by councillors Bilal El-Hayek and Linda Downey who said “hosting a barbecue for these local SES heroes is the very least we can do”.
“A good old-fashioned barbecue will bring together local SES teams and will go some way in showing our appreciation for what they do for our community,” they said.
“Whether it is floods, fires, storms or road emergencies, our SES crews are there to help in some way or another.”
Host barbecue to thank SES workers
BANKSTOWN and Canterbury SES units have been recognised for their dedication and outstanding efforts following several major storm related events in recent months, and their ongoing work in the community.
