While the future of the new hospital has remained undecided since funding was announced in 2019, MPs Tania Mihailuk (Bankstown) and Wendy Lindsay (East Hills) say traffic congestion in and around the CBD site was a huge concern, and council’s preferred location at the TAFE site could have serious implications on emergency response times and put lives at risk, a suggestion vehemently rejected by Mayor Khal Asfour.

THE State MPs for Bankstown and East Hills have slammed Canterbury Bankstown Council’s preferred location for the new $1.3 billion Bankstown Hospital in the CBD.
