Hopes to run way to fifth record

Lilian Molesworth is looking forward to the Georges River Festival of the Feet.

ADMITTING that she loves running and that her life revolves around sport, Lilian Molesworth is hoping to make it five from five when she competes in the upcoming Georges River Festival of the Feet.

A professional fitness trainer, Lilian has accrued an impressive list of accomplishments in running both internationally and in Australia, including 13 Ironman events.

“I won my age category in the Estonian Ironman and hold my age category course record there,” Lilian said.

After kick-starting her running career in 2001, it didn’t take Lilian long to find her feet at Western Districts Joggers and Harriers.

“There are a lot of friendly people there and you always have someone to run with,” she said. “I’ve made lifelong friends.”

Lilian holds the festival record in the 21km having entered and won each consecutive event since the festival’s inception. Her goal for this year’s festival is to win the 21km event for the fifth straight time.

Lilian encourages everyone to come along to the Festival of the Feet no matter their experience.

“Enter now!” she said. “And train smart! It’s not quantity it’s quality.”

The Georges River Festival of the Feet will take place on Sunday, July 14, at Lake Gillawarna, Georges Hall.
