The WPL competition was a merge between Granville & District Soccer Football Association, Hills Football and Blacktown District Soccer Football Association, with the best of the best female players competing across the West.
Holroyd Rangers President and Head Coach Danny Rizk said such was the strength of their WPL team, that they’d managed to dominate WPL so convincingly in the new competition informally labelled the ‘Pinnacle of Women’s Amateur Football in Sydney’.
He said following the confirmation of the minor premiership, Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club played Greystanes FC in the GDSFA Derby at the end of July, with a 2-0 win to Holroyd giving them one more achievement in an already impressive season.
“The season as a whole has been an amazing experience so far as we are the most successful women’s football club in the competition but obviously finals is a completely new competition and anything can happen so we will need to keep focused to get the job done come September 3,” he said.
“I’m proud of our girls and what they have achieved so far.”
