Holroyd Brass Band in full swing to transport fans to golden era of 40s

JOIN Holroyd Brass Band at Riverside Theatres this Sunday, October 13, as they present an afternoon of music from the golden era of swing.

A Western Sydney favourite, Holroyd Brass Band will delight audiences with a musical journey through the history of Swing – from the war-time tunes of Glenn Miller, The Andrews Sisters and Harry James, through to the big band and dancehall classics from the likes of Count Bassie and Neil Hefti.
The concert will get toes tapping with timeless songs like The Andrews Sisters’ Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Ella Fitzgerald’s I Got Rhythm and Duke Ellington’s Satin Doll.
The band of 35 performers, led by Musical Director Richard Sandham, will also feature a dazzling solo from NSW Cornet and Trumpet State Champion, Bella Harvey.
Richard said: “The Holroyd Brass Band is an A Grade British style brass band providing musical entertainment and support for the local community through concerts, youth workshops and ceremonial occasions like Anzac Day.
“Community music is still very much at the heart of what the Holroyd Brass Band does.
“Audiences can expect an entertaining Sunday afternoon of music with a journey through the story of Swing music with all your favourite tunes and favourite band leaders.”
