Henderson at namesake inaugural X-League Cup

IT was a very special occasion on Friday night when Granville Waratahs inaugurated The Bill Henderson Cup, in the X-League, taking on Granville Kewpies, to celebrate Australia’s oldest Derby which began in 1919.

Bill (pictured) played for Granville Waratahs, Kewpies, Magpies and Australia in the 1950s and was Australia’s first Olyroo as the goal keeper for Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
The 93-year-old was proudly on hand to lead the teams onto the field, perform the coin toss and present his Cup to the Granville Kewpies who won the night.
