Help combat our deadliest female cancer

WITH one woman dying from the disease every eight hours, ovarian cancer is Australia’s deadliest female cancer.

Only 29 per cent of women diagnosed will survive beyond five years.
Teal Day is held annually on the last Wednesday in February, with this year’s being on February 23, to honour those we have lost and raise awareness of this deadly disease to change the outcome for future generations.
There are many ways to help or be involved during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
From a morning tea with colleagues, to a Sunday picnic with friends, you can bring people together to raise vital funds to support those affected by the disease.
Every dollar raised and donated on February 23, will be matched by major donors to ensure that research to find a cure and support for sufferers can continue.
Make a donation or buy a teal ribbon or other teal items such as pens, hope bracelets, presentation boxes, coin boxes, commemorative pins, tea towels, OCA (Ovarian Cancer Australia) white caps, ovary-action polo shirts (mens, womens and unisex) and Blue Magic Tea kits.
With purchases available online, you can also buy merchandise in-store at TerryWhite Chemmarts.
Black Pepper will donate $10 from the sale of every specially designed scarf and nightie to Ovarian Cancer Australia, aiming to raise $100,000. Pens and ribbons will also be sold in-store during February.
Need blinds or shutters? Buy any Wynstan product in February and they’ll also make a donation to Ovarian Cancer Australia.
