Heartbeat of local community offers support

REGENTS Park Community Church, which started out as Regents Park Baptist in 1907, officially changed its name to Heartbeat Church in 2014 to create closer links with Heartbeat Community Care.

Pastor for the last five years, Mitchell Levingston said operating in Regents Park presented him with the fantastic opportunity of being able to engage with many different cultures.
“There is just so much diversity here, it’s wonderful,” he said.
Hoping to resume the popular English as a Second Language (ESL) classes in the next month, Mitchell teaches a class voluntarily at Regents Park Christian School, is chairman of the school board and is also involved in the emergency relief centre where residents can get assistance with utility bills as well as grocery support.
“We also offer a range of activities such as youth group, bible study, a Sunday service as well as a ‘zoom’ service and mums and bubs groups to name a few,” Mitchell said.
“Regents Park is a wonderful community and we look forward to a long association.”
