STANMORE Hawks have won the NPL3 premiership with one round remaining, after a 1-0 win over Sydney Uni.
In a game played on a sandy, uneven ground, the match was never going to be pretty.
Stanmore opened the scoring early on with a neat finish by winger Jonah Callagher.
The rest of the half was played in the midfield with neither side being able to muster much.
The second half was dominated by the champions with numerous shots saved by the Uni keeper.
In the end, one goal proved to be enough as the Hawks popped the champagne and celebrated in style.
Stanmore complete the regular season against Bankstown Utd at The Crest Oval before semi-finals get under way.
