Hawks ready to continue ‘winning ways’

THE National Premier League trials have been completed with last year’s NPL3 Premiers, Stanmore Hawks Football Club, looking to go one step further in 2020 with promotion to the NPL2.

Following last year’s gut wrenching grand final loss to newly promoted SD Raiders, Stanmore coach Ben Rollison retained the bulk of his squad and with the addition of some quality new recruits, is looking to continue the team’s winning ways.
Marksman and Captain Jovan Blagojevic will be looking to continue banging the goals in after last year’s impressive 27 goal tally and shot stopper Nick Carosi will be looking to lead the league’s tightest defence which conceded a miserly 27 goals in 26 games last season.
Stanmore will kick off Round 1 against a strong Gladesville Ryde Magic side at Christie Park this Sunday, March 8, then host Sydney Uni at Valentine Sports Park the following week.
A return to the newly revamped Arlington Oval in Round 4 for a mouth-watering clash against heavyweights Rydalmere should ensure a large crowd and electric atmosphere.
