Hawks fall to predator

STANMORE Hawks’ unbeaten streak in the NPL 3 finally come to a halt with a 1-0 loss to final contenders Gladesville.

Stanmore dominated the early exchanges and tested the Gladesville veteran keeper who rose to the challenge with three point blank saves.
Gladesville then got the sucker punch when a well flighted corner found the head of the central defender to take Gladesville into the break with a lead.
The brave Hawks side threw everything at Gladesville in the second half but to Gladesville’s credit they defended sternly and slowed the tempo of the game down to as slow as possible.
Their tactics worked perfectly and in the end a deserved win.
Next week Stanmore look to hit back against promotion favourites SD Raiders at Arlington.
