Have say on demand for preschools

CUMBERLAND Council has sought community input to help determine the demand for state-funded, council-run preschool services.

It has been engaging with the community to determine the need for more preschool services, “to support positive outcomes for children in our community”.
A council spokesperson said the review was in response to the Federal and State governments committing to improving preschool participation rates and outcomes for children, particularly in the year prior to attending school.
He said the council had a proud history of delivering long day care services, school aged care services and family day care to the community, with a small number of private and community-based providers offering pre-school services to children and families in Cumberland.
If you are part of a family with preschool aged children, or have children who will start kindergarten in the future, or if you think the community will benefit from this, the council wants you to submit your feedback. Visit Cumberland.nsw.gov.au.
