Have a say on new ‘fun zone’ upgrade

GRANVILLE’S Junction Street Plaza is set for a $1.2 million ‘fun zone’ upgrade with residents being urged to have their say on the concept designs by early December.

The first pilot project under the M4 Motorway, draft designs include spaces for parkour, street skating and open areas with markings for a variety of ball games and spectator areas.
Parramatta Lord Mayor Pierre Esber said Junction Street Plaza promised to be a unique urban space for youth.
“Every piece of this space has been carefully planned to create a place our youth can call their own,” he said.
“This project shows how we are thinking creatively about public space and looking to provide more recreation facilities for the growing community.
“Just like similar projects in major cities around the world, Junction Street Plaza will turn this area into a unique fun zone for teens.”
The project was created and funded in conjunction with the NSW Government through its 2021/22 Places to Play Program.
It is expected to be completed by mid to late 2024.
