Police allegedly found footage of the alleged driving offences during an analysis of the dash cam from a vehicle which crashed on Georges River Road, Croydon Park, last Tuesday morning.
Police will allege the recorded offences occurred during November and December 2023 in several suburbs in Sydney’s north and southwest, including Strathfield South, Bankstown, Moorebank, Miranda, Huntingwood, Ashfield, Campsie, Rhodes, Macquarie Park, Milperra, Liverpool, Haberfield, Hammondville, and Croydon Park.
A 19-year-old man was charged with Contravene statutory rules re speed competitions (street racing), Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous (six counts), P1 driver exceed speed more than 45 km/h (six counts), P1 driver exceed speed more than 30 km/h (five counts), P1 driver exceed speed more than 20 km/h (two counts), P1 driver exceed speed more than 10 km/h (four counts), Drive motor vehicle while licence suspended (21 counts), Operate vehicle so driving wheel/s undergo loss of traction, Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), and Not stop at stop line at yellow light.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear in court next month.
