The Saviors Tour will see Green Day celebrate 30 years of their breakout album Dookie and Grammy Award winning Best Rock album, American Idiot, playing both albums in their entirety, along with tracks from their 14th studio album, Saviors.
Tickets for the concert, supported by Californian rock band, AFI, go on sale on Friday, September 20 at 3pm.
Sydney Showground General Manager, Darryl Jeffrey says he and his team look forward to welcoming the award-winning band, with Engie Stadium offering the perfect space to bring the high energy they are known and loved for.
“Sydney Showground is thrilled to be announced as the Sydney venue for the long-awaited return of global rock band Green Day,” Mr Jeffrey said.
“As one of the country’s best stadiums for fan experience, Engie Stadium will provide the perfect location for Sydneysiders to once again rock out with the award-winning superstars in Australia.”
In the official announcement released by Live Nation, Green Day shared: “We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. And we cannot wait to return to Australia, it’s been way too long. So, let’s thrash.”
