Greek Independence Day celebration invite

GREEK Independence Day will be celebrated at Earlwood with a flag raising event, featuring performances by a Bouzouki player, Greek poems by two local Greek school children, a special rendition of the anthem sung by CBCity Talent Advancement program and free coffee.

Join in the celebration at Earlwood Senior Citizens Centre this Friday (March 25) at 4pm.
Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour says it is important to celebrate days like this which have cultural significance in our City.
“Earlwood has the largest Greek population in NSW and Greek heritage is strong in the City of Canterbury Bankstown,” Mayor Asfour said.
“Greek Independence Day marks Greece’s war and revolution of Independence. The Greek and Australian Anthems will be sung loud and proud and the Greek flags raised in honour of the day.
“I’m looking forward to celebrating our Australian Greek community, who add to the rich diversity of our City.”
Coffee vouchers to local participating cafes will also be distributed among attendees.
