Granville Boys 10th out of 80 nations in robotics

GRANVILLE Boys High School’s Granbots team has been ranked 10th out of 80 nations and picked up two awards while taking part in the First Lego League Razorback Open Invitational Robotics competition at the University of Arkansas in the USA.

Comprising students Zaiyan Ahmed, Abhinav Reddy Talasani, Atakan Ozturk and Henry Wu, the Granbots won the FLL Razorback Invitational Pit Award 2023 and the FLL Razorback Invitational Core Values Award 2023.
Principal Noel Dixon described it as an incredible achievement at an international robotics competition against 80 nations from around the world.
“This incredible opportunity was made possible thanks to the generosity and support of our sponsors, El Jannah, Sanity and C.T. Freight,” he said.
Organising teacher Fiona Donnelly said: “The students demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and represented their school and country with pride.”
As thank you for all of their hard work, the Granbots enjoyed a stopover on the way back in Los Angeles to enjoy all the tourist highlights at Disneyland, Universal Studios and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
