Grandson inspires book

WHEN Condell Park resident Madeleine Pizzuti first played ‘make believe’ with grandson Michael and his teddy bear, she had no idea that it would develop into her writing her first children’s book, ‘Bear: The adventures of a much-loved teddy bear and his young companion’.

When Bear first meets baby Michael, they get off to a shaky start. From close encounters with ceiling fans to confrontations with slobbery dogs, Bear’s life never lacks adventure!
But through the bad times and the good, friendship grows – a bond not even time can break.
Suitable for 7-12 years and bedtime stories for younger children, ‘Bear’ is Madeleine’s second book with the first being, ‘Tell Me A Story’, about her childhood growing up in the Fens, Cambridgeshire, England.
And does Michael, 6, approve of the book?
“He absolutely loves it,” Madeleine said.
“When he saw me arrive with the book under my arm for the first time, his eyes lit up, he was so excited.
“I will never forget that day; it was a lovely experience.”
With her next book aimed at young adults, ‘Under the Weeping Willow’, on the way in early January, Madeleine says copies of ‘Bear’ and ‘Tell Me A Story’ are available through Amazon or by emailing maddymissin@yahoo.com.
