With over 100 chocolate hampers and other goodies to be won, the Easter Raffle ticket sales will go to support not-for-profit Supertee: Children’s Charity which provides medical garments for sick kids.
Thanks to a convenient array of press studs which can be opened to fit tubes through and giving the wearer ‘super powers’, Supertees have helped thousands of Australia’s sickest children and their parents over the last six years.
Former tradie and Chester Hill resident Jason Sotiris got the Supertee idea from his young son who appeared dressed in a superhero outfit one day, saying he was off to save his sister.
“My daughter had been diagnosed with a rare cancer,” he said.
“I felt helpless at the time not being able to do the simple task of putting clean clothes on her, with the IV drips, chest monitor cables and central lines making it impossible which led me to the press stud concept and it worked,” he said.
Each Supertee pack includes the top, stickers, an activity book and an official ‘hero’ status card created by volunteers at the not-for-profit charity which relies on fundraisers and donations to continue but more support is needed.
Easter Raffle tickets are also available at The Acres Club from 6pm today, Friday, March 22, with the draw from 7.30pm.
