Girls win 2023 Indoor Cricket Junior World Series

FORMER St Christophers Club Panania cricketers Chrissa Stathis and Jessica Robertson (pictured) have won the Gold Medal match against New Zealand at the 2023 Indoor Cricket Junior World Series in Dubai.

The Australian U17 Girls are now the World Champions, with Greenacre’s Jessica also named Player of the Match.
Now part of the junior development program at Bankstown Sports Women’s Cricket Club (BSCC), Chrissa is playing second grade this season with Jessica playing in the Brewer’s Shield team.
BSCC President Samantha Balnave said the club was extremely proud of both players, with their achievements believed to be a first for the club.
“They are both very talented indoor and outdoor players and we are incredibly excited for them,” she said.
With both teens working extremely hard at training, Samantha said they were future first graders and senior champions.
“We’re lucky to have them but they have also benefited from the expert coaching and fantastic foundation that young cricketers in Bankstown receive,” she said.
“Both Chrissa and Jessica are great girls, an inspiration to all and they now have the world at their feet.”
