Girls two of 12 best cricketers under 12 to make State’s team

AFTER rain washed out the NSWPSSA Girls Cricket State Championships in the Barooga Cobram region, over 100 primary school aged girls from all over NSW travelled to Cricket Central recently at Sydney Olympic Park for a two-day selection trial.

Taylor McMahon who lives in Bangor and plays for Bankstown Sports Womens Cricket Club U15 Sixers Cricket League team, represented Sydney East.
Ava Gaughan who lives in Milperra and plays in the Bankstown Cricket Cricket Association for St Christophers, represented Mackillop.
Both were selected in the NSW team and will now travel to Ballarat to play against the other States.
Bankstown Sports Womens Cricket Club and Australian representative Ashleigh Gardner made this NSW team while in primary school so it’s a great pathway and an amazing achievement to be selected as two of the 12 best female cricketers under the age of 12 in NSW for 2022.
Their 2022 School Sport Australia 12 Years & Under Championships were due to be held in Shepparton, Victoria, but this has also been moved due to the rain and will now take place in Ballarat from November 19-26.
