The students were hosted by State MP for East Hills, Wendy Lindsay, who said it was great to be able to celebrate the occasion with some future local leaders.
The seminar’s keynote presenter was Dr Xanthé Mallett, Associate Professor in Criminology at Newcastle Law School, forensic scientist, criminologist, TV presenter and author. Passionate about improving the outcomes of the criminal justice system, she advocates for victims of crime and their families.
Mrs Lindsay said the leadership program offered an opportunity for students to meet an inspiring leader who can speak on personal and professional experiences, and who can help young women aspire to leadership roles.
In addition, a panel of female Members including Wendy, discussed highlights, challenges and opportunities they have experienced in their careers.
