Girls can learn tips to cricket success with star

GIRLS taking part in the Bullpups Academy School Holiday Coaching Clinic in July, will have a chance to get up close and personal with Bankstown Sports Women’s Cricket Club star and now Australian cricketer Angelina Genford who will be special guest coach.

The 20-year-old is a right-arm, fast-medium bowler and right-handed batter for Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and Australian Capital Territory Meteors in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL).
She made her professional debut during the 2021–22 WBBL for the Hurricanes against Adelaide Strikers, and says she is looking forward to returning to Bankstown and sharing her tips for success with the girls.
“Cricket is such a nice sport,” Angelina said.
“It is challenging but I love the social connections that I’ve made and it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or experienced, you will still enjoy it.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the local girls and hopefully helping to inspire them on their cricket journey.”
On offer for six to 14-year-olds, the clinic is for all levels of experience and across all facets of the game including challenging activities in batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping.
“Players will be exposed to a variety of fun games and drills designed to improve confidence, self belief, concentration and teamwork, all while having fun with friends,” clinic organiser Michael Polson said.
Register for the clinic at Bankstown Memorial Oval ($100 a day or $250 for three days, Active Kids Vouchers accepted and sibling discounts) from July 11-13, 9am-1.30pm, by emailing michael@bullpupsacademy.com.au or Bullpups Academy on facebook.
