This followed her winning a gold and silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago earlier this year.
During the World Championships, Keira qualified for the Team Pursuit, Points Race and Madison.
In the Team Pursuit, the Australian team placed third earning Keira the bronze medal at the world’s highest level.
“To get a medal was unexpected, but to do it with a team was so much more special,” she said.
“We were screaming and hugging.”
Her next event came in the Points Race and Keira said the race was “different to anything I had ever done” but she managed to place a well-earned seventh in the world.
In her last race, the Madison, Keira said she felt anxious but confident in herself and team-mate and they managed to secure the silver medal.
“When we won the final sprint for the silver, it was pure joy, shortly followed by pure exhaustion,” she said.
She credits her success to her parents, coaches and LACC.
“The junior program at LACC got me into the sport and supported me along the way,” she said.
After the upcoming HSC exams, Keira will be back in training for the Madison and Omnium Nationals in December.
