Giants’ fans kept on toes until final siren

RECORDING a down-to-the-wire, two-point win over Essendon, the Giants have claimed their fourth win from five games.

While leading for all but the first 90 seconds of the game, the Giants were never able to relax as the Victorian visitors refused to give in, even when they were 31 points down in the first term.
Eventually able drive some momentum, the Bombers scored five goals in the final term before a goal from the Giants’ Jacob Hopper just 25 seconds before the final siren, seemed to seal the deal for the homeside.
However fans on both sides were left biting their nails after Essendon won the centre bounce which resulted in a snap goal to Kyle Langford with four seconds left on the clock.
With the scoreline at 16.11 (107) to 16.9 (105), Giants fan were only able to breathe a sigh of relief at the final siren.
Jeremy Finlayson kicked three goals for the Giants but faces a one match suspension for a late and high hit on Zach Merrett in the first quarter.
