Launching MYBJJ WestSide studio in East Street, Lidcombe, about three years ago, Jin and Yong say BJJ developed from Judo about 150 years ago and features world-class teaching programs.
“You could walk into our academy and talk to some of the students who have just started training in BJJ and ask them what it’s has done for them,” Jin said.
“Most will say things like, ‘I lost so much weight’, or, ‘my body is so much more flexible now’.
“Some talk about how much strength they have gained or how they are in better shape.
“But the fact is that BJJ will change your body; you can physically see your body changing every week.”
It’s easy to excel in BJJ, according to Jin, and it’s especially great for children.
“BJJ offers a fun cardiovascular workout for your child which they will love doing,” he said.
“Through BJJ, they will lose weight, gain core strength, and have more energy and stamina for demanding activities.”
As you develop your discipline and skills, BJJ also teaches valuable self defence moves, particularly how to restrain opponents, ground survival techniques and submissions designed to render an opponent unconscious or immobilise their joints.
