Gearing up for Noble Kia, MG

SIGNING off as Holden dealers after 31 years in Bankstown following the closure of Holden in Australia, the Kumar family – owners of Peninsula Motor Group – are gearing up for an even busier future after purchasing Noble Kia and MG franchises.

Peninsula Managing Director Dilip Kumar said that when they originally bought the Holden business off the Purnell Brothers in 1989, they were initially located in Davies Road, Padstow, before moving to Chapel Road, Bankstown, in 2003 and going on to win the prestigious Holden Grand Master Title for six consecutive years over their exceptional sales and service.
“All Holden customers should note their cars that are covered under warranty, will continue to be looked after by us for the next seven years,” Mr Kumar said.
“As one door closes, another door opens and so it is with us now with Kia. Although it is sad seeing the Holden signs come down, Kia is one of the fastest growing car companies in the world and will be on offer here, along with MG, from January 1.
“Kia hopes to be in the top three for sales in Australia in the next two years. We also sell and service the Suzuki and Hyundai ranges.
“We are currently Suzuki’s number one dealer for sales in NSW and the sole distributors in all of Australia for Hyundai buses and trucks, from four-tonne to the large 520hp Prime Mover.”
Saying he himself drives a Suzuki or a Hyundai, Mr Kumar said the family intended on growing and expanding the business in the years ahead.
“We are excited to be introducing Kia and MG to our showroom and will remain the one-stop shop for all motorists’ needs as well us offering a very busy and popular used-car lot,” he said.
