Ten people were evacuated from the surrounding area as more than 30 firefighters battled the blaze.
The blast at a villa in Maclaurin Avenue, caused significant damage to the building and smashed windows and ripped off roof tiles from neighbouring homes.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
