On offer from July 25 to September 12 every Tuesday, 4.45-5.45pm, the program requires no previous experience of AFL and every child will receive a free goody bag including a footy and pump, footy cards and a shirt.
Throughout the program, which is returning after a successful 2022 program where 100 children took part, there will be special family fun nights comprising food trucks, face painters and elite AFL players attending.
Marianna Konidaris, Diversity and Inclusion Project Coordinator at AFL NSW/ACT, is excited to see families get involved in the program again.
“We were so impressed by the enthusiasm of the 2022 participants, we wanted to bulk up the program with giveaways, family fun nights and an expense-free clinic run by qualified AFL facilitators to give everyone the best experience,” she said.
AFLX Auburn will take place just 15 minutes from the Giants’ home ground, and the elite club is right behind the program, says Ali Farage, Head of Community for the Giants.
“The Giants are excited for AFLX Auburn to return this year and look forward to supporting this great initiative.,” he said.
