The purpose-built salon allows hairdressing, barbering and beauty students to put theory into practice and gain practical skills in a real-world environment with paying clients.
TAFE NSW Head Teacher of Hairdressing and Barbering, Antonia Urso, says barbering students at TAFE NSW Granville, learn in simulated barbering facilities to practise haircuts, beard trimming, head shaving, brow trimming, and beard and moustache design.
“Practising on clients gives our hair and beauty students the real-world experience they need to gain an edge in their careers,” Ms Urso said.
“It’s essential members of the public book for these services by calling 9682 0330 before arriving on campus so that our staff can ensure Covid-safe guidelines are met.
“You can enjoy a full-service salon experience for a fraction of the price.”
The salon is at 136 William Street, Granville, Building C, Room C250, from 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday and 5-8pm on Monday and Tuesday evenings (all by appointment only).
