The Covid-safe event will run from 9am to 1pm, and bookings are essential at cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au.
Lord Mayor Bob Dwyer said with the cost of living on the rise, keeping pets healthy can hit the hip pocket.
“Council’s free pet vaccination and microchipping service will save families hundreds of dollars and help them keep their pets safe and healthy,” he said.
Of the 30,000 animals taken in by RSPCA shelters each year, only about 10 per cent of the cats and kittens are microchipped says RSPCA NSW community outreach officer Claudia Jones.
“Vaccinating and microchipping your pets gives them the best opportunity to live a healthy life,” she said.
“By offering these free services, we hope to positively impact the health and welfare of animals and people.”
In NSW, cats and dogs must be microchipped by 12 weeks old, or before being sold or given away and the City of Parramatta offers eligible pet owners access to free in-home microchipping service any time of the year.
