Free or low-cost holiday activities

THERE will be more than 50 free or low-cost activities to keep the kids occupied these school holidays.

Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour says the council is stepping in to save families money and at the same time, entertaining kids.
“We know the recent weather and increasing living costs have made it hard for families to plan days out,” Mayor Asfour said.
“So, we’ve set up more than 50 activities to make sure everyone can enjoy the holidays at little or no cost.
“There’s plenty of fun and excitement to be had without leaving our City.”
Highlights include a skateboarding workshop, cycling skills days and indoor sports sessions, as well as creative writing workshops led by published authors, Aboriginal song and dance workshops, Dungeons and Dragons cosplay and youth drop-ins at Belmore Youth Resource Centre.
And don’t forget the CBCity Big Day Out, a family fun day with activities at Terry Lamb Reserve.
Other school holiday activities offered include: Bowling and Laser Tag; Luna Park trip; Sports and games; Monoprinting workshop; Kids Clay Club and Programming robots.
There’s also Arts and crafts sessions; Little Bang Science Club; Building with blocks; Bingo and other games; Movies at the libraries; and Virtual Reality Fun Hour.
